Space BD’s role in support and advisory services for Space Strategy Fund Operations
Space BD, a leading Japanese space startup, has been awarded a contract by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to provide the support for Space Strategy Fund operation to encourage efficient use of domestic launch service and demonstration opportunities.
Space BD is commissioned by JAXA* to provide support, advice, and other services to ensure the efficient execution of launches by the user of the Space Strategic Fund. Through these services, Space BD will enable the smooth operation of the Space Strategic Fund. Space BD performs its service based on the policy shown in the Basic Policy of the Space Strategic Fund (April 26, 2024) “5-8: Coordination for launches and international frequencies, etc.”
Specifically, with the information gathered by the process above, Space BD will create and propose possible launch options to JAXA and other stakeholders in order to initiate launches and in-orbit demonstration opportunities hosted in Japan.. Space BD will then update the plans based on the feedback, and iterate its process to brush up to optimal plans. .
Space BD aims to accelerate commercialization of space business in Japan by helping JAXA to create a scheme which realizes efficient use of domestic launch service and demonstration opportunities.
